When Martin composed this tune, he told us that he got his inspiration from his trip to Jericoacoara, an unspoiled beach town paradise in the northeastern region of Brazil, mecca for wind and kite surfing. There, Martin experienced complete immersion into the richest Brazilian music traditions at the annual Festival Choro & Jazz. He also said that this tune was about love and love games so he wanted to give it a playful feel. Rogério once again came through, this time with a beautiful depiction of a day in the life of Jericoacoara. From the sunrise to moonrise, all the flavors of the day, and with a salute to Martin in this line “Feito um martim, pescar estrelas”: “Like a kingfisher, fishing for stars.”

And this line “Solto pelo vento de Jeri”: “Released by the wind of Jeri.” inspired the title of our CD: Solto por Jeri.
